Sometimes you just get a good idea. You never know where it’s gonna come from or when it’ll happen. You might be playing a new video game and the music will spark something. Maybe you’ll be chatting with a friend at Starbucks and a punch-line to a joke makes you think “Why DOESN’T that exist yet?” And then you think, “Somebody oughtta do it.” Why can’t that somebody be you? Maybe it’s not in line with your hobbies or career. But if it is, by all means you should go for it with all you’ve got! And it doesn’t have to be alone. If others around you see how fired up you are then they’d probably be happy to help and support you! Who knows? Maybe your positive, go-getter attitude will help them pursue an idea that drives them.

The reason why I talk about this is that I have been snowballing idea after idea and I’ve actually been taking all of it down using my phone, computer, notebook, whiteboard, whatever. And I’ve actually already started working on some ideas for a making T-Shirts. I’ve been doing a ton of research; being careful about how I approach this. I was able to chat with others about it. Now I’ve got my feet grounded and I am ready to do this! The ideas just keep coming and they’re starting to keep me up at night. If you see me and I’ll be burying my face into my computer or sketchbook all the time because I’ll either be doing homework or cranking out notes and sketches like a madman! I feel like I no longer have free time. But what I consider free time now (not doing anything) is wasted time because what I used to consider leisure has become my work! …but in a good way. So I present to you… my new canvas. Good day!

So I’ve been practicing when I wasn’t doing homework or studying and I’ve finally memorized the lyrics to Simple, Starving to be Safe by Daphne Loves Derby! (I tried to learn this song a couple of years back but gave up, haha) I’ve learned to sing the whole song while playing at the same time. At first I found it tricky (well I’m just a beginner) because the rhythm of the song is syncopated. All the other songs I’ve learned how to play have a very steady and consistent rhythm pattern so I found it kind of hard. Buuut I’m not yet ready to make a cover video as of now. I don’t wanna keep stumbling or making mistakes while recording. Now that I know the song, I gotta practice more to really get it down. Getting back to playing guitar I am reminded of how addicting it is. Good thing I tackled my homework early! Whoohoo!

So I’ve picked my guitar again recently and started learning how to play a sing I thought was a little too hard to sing and play at the same time. Can you guess what the song is? =D The song itself is actually really easy to play. I’m just really new to the rhythm of the plucking that makes it really tricky to sing along. This time around I’ve made good progress so I feel like I could memorize it soon. Then I’ll make a video! Whoohoo! It’s been a while and I’m pretty excited!
