I’ve been wanting to make my own T-shirts since ever since! At one point I bought acryllic paint and emulsifier that turns my paint into fabric paint. I would then try to paint on clothes or other things using this. Setting the paint with heat was required to make it permanent. This was a pretty cool way to inexpensively make my own stuff, but the work involved wouldn’t get me anywhere if I wanted to make multiple shirts of the same design. (Either way, I’m out of luck if we’re talking about shoes here.) But recently this machine here called the Yudu personal screen printer has caught my attention. I knew about it a few months ago but could never really find the budget to invest in this machine. I checked again recently and the overall price of it online and in-stores has dropped to around $120!

I’m thinking that the time to invest has finally come. The opportunity has been knocking since I knew about this machine but now I think I’m actually ready to open the door! I’m really down to invest in it. I’ve talked to others about this and Mary Ann Manipon is really hyped about making clothes too. I’m also looking to Kristian Salcedo and Ally Gee to collaborate on this. We’ve already got a design ready to go into Adobe Illustrator to turn into vectors, courtesy of Ally and Kristian. We plan on making these shirts and giving the proceeds to Japan for disaster relief. I think this is a good way to spread the word/advertise and at the same time do something for a good cause. All that’s left now is to:

  1. Make the website.
  2. Make the designs ready for print.
  3. Set up the t-shirts for purchase

From there we can print the shirts to order and I think that will kick-start everything! Stay tuned for a new clothing line people. Things will be revealed soon. We’ll be doing big things…
